Tahaira and Tony
From an early age Tahaira could be found with her nose in a book or penning stories of her own, dreaming about foreign lands and exotic peoples. Being the daughter of immigrants, she became increasingly aware and curious of her ethnic heritage. This curiosity has continued to shape her path; Tahaira majored in Anthropology, studied Urdu in Lucknow, India, completed her Masters in International Studies, and became the world’s biggest fan of Harry Potter. Upon graduation, she spent weeks sending out resumes and applying for jobs, hoping to land a wonderful opportunity that might occasionally take her across the world or at least some place large and cosmopolitan. A friend from her study-abroad days forwarded her resume to his former colleague and she landed a job in Tampa. The position sounded interesting but Tampa? Florida was as far from Washington as one could get without crossing international borders! Not to mention….Tampa??? She signed up. In an economic recession, you gotta take what you can get!!
Tony, on the other hand, was more interested in video games and sports for most of his childhood, but eventually realized there existed a world outside of good old Dayton, Ohio, where he grew up. For the record, however, he has never read or watched any Harry Potter!!! Anyway… back to the story: While Tahaira was securing employment in Tampa, Tony was finishing his undergraduate degree in Corporate Finance at the University of South Carolina while undertaking a job hunt in which he flew to DC to take part in a job fair. His friend from his Egypt summer study-abroad in 2005 graciously hosted his visit. Upon returning from the job fair, Tony mentioned a company he’d met which he soon found out was a former employer of his host! To make a long story short… Tony soon arrived in Tampa.
Yes, Tony and Tahaira have a mutual study-abroad friend they both met in different countries, studying different languages at different times in their lives who hooked them up with gainful employment. Kismet.

Erika and Jon
How Erika and Jon met…
Many moons ago, a girl named Erika “friended” a boy named Jon.
See? Meeting someone online can work! Erika and Jon met on Myspace when she added him as a friend . Over a month’s time of e-mails back and forth, they finally met at the Bada Lounge (now Umi Sake House – one of their favorite sushi restaurants). Jon’s friends (Austin and Charles) kept Erika’s friends (Annjie and Jenney) entertained while Jon and Erika talked, danced and sang through the night. A sweet kiss on the cheek sent Erika off into the night with her friends.
Just as Erika was arriving home that night, she got a call from Jon – “did you get home safe?” and Erika was hooked.
A week passed before their official first date – a home cooked meal by Jon, followed by a movie. Erika and Jon have been together since!
Over the years, they’ve bonded over music, movies and The Sounders. Sounders ’til they die!

This photo is a perfect description of Amy and Chad, fun, romantic, happy. When asked to describe her wedding day this is what Amy said:
“Well, our wedding is about 4 people coming together (my two kids and chad and I)
They are so happy about us getting married and Chad entering our family and that is what the wedding is about.
We really want everyone to have a really good time. This is not a wedding where etiquette is the be all/end all but a wedding where family is valued above all else
We have both been married before and never want to be married again and we just really want our family to be the focus and for everyone to enjoy and celebrate the family we are creating.
Just a damn good time!!! and a poofy dress!!!!”

Aimee and James Pioneer Square Engagement
He proposed last November. I had just woken up and was still laying in bed, he knelt down beside the bed, took out the ring and said he wanted to make me his wife.
Aimee and James are our creative, artistic, hip couple who requested Pioneer Square for their engagement session. The location suited them perfectly with all the art, textures and energy. We had a fabulous time. They are like two peas in a pod. Very comfortable together, easy going and light hearted. We very much look forward to their wedding this Saturday.

Our new stationary is so beautiful. I’m so happy. This is a really good thing because we bought a lifetime supply of it!

Anna and Alex engagement
He proposed in the Westin Hotel, Bellevue. He tricked me into thinking we were going to a friend’s Birthday party at the hotel. When we entered the room I thought the “birthday party” was in, I soon realized it was’t a party. I thought he just got the room and decorated it with rose petals to celebrate my new job I was recently offered. As soon as he got down on one knee, I knew it wasn’t that either. Of course I said yes…and the rest is history!

This photo I took of Brandon was our 4-minute break of the day. Our videographer, Larry, was doing a 360 of the bride and groom gazing into each other’s eyes for the first time as husband and wife. He was definitely capturing a moment and I was happy to give him those precious 4 minutes.
Even though this was our time to rest I couldn’t resist taking this photo of Brandon. He looked so handsome with the 80 degree sunlight warming his face in the cool barrel room. Arms full of my lens bag, his D800, the mic boom he’s a man ready for action caught in a still moment. Even though the fake fur is called “dead cat” it still couldn’t ruin the mood and how handsome he looked at that moment.
